It’s our pleasure to introduce one of the highlights of our fall season to you, Fabricating Space Exploring Identities Through Sculpture: Anton Poon Solo Exhibition. Presented by V54 Young-Artist-in-Residence program, in collaboration with Wangsim.
The solo project will unveil the most recent sculpture work by the artist. After spending 17 years in Australia, Poon completed the exciting body of work as his first ever “Made in Hong Kong” series, which includes corten steel free standing works and colorful relief-style wall pieces. Attentive to the physicality of his work, Poon forms intricate geometric shapes and experiments with candy-like vivid colors. While translating the city’s dynamic urban landscapes into stunning art pieces, Poon, with poetic sensibility, maps out the complex cultural identities of a new generation of Hong Kong.
